Our sincerest apologies, evidently some of the technical issues at our station George FM we've mentioned in the past have not been sorted. We put a lot of effort into last week's show, alas they have switched to a new audio system and have informed us it 'may be awhile' until we get this show from them (i'm choosing to read "never"). The NEW system is up and running and we've been assured that all future shows will be dispensed in a timely manner. My fingers are crossed...

So in place of last week's HIQI I'm posting a rare and unreleased Recloose track from the Hiatus on the Horizon era called 'Rudy'. And it has absolutely nothing to do with Rudy Ray Moore (R.I.P.)... Enjoy.

Recloose- Rudy (Unreleased)

PS. Mark your calendars for Friday Nov. 13 at the Basement in Auckland. This is the launch of our 'Hit It and Quit It Revue' debut night, a 10-3am throw-down with Recloose, Frank Booker, and Julien Dyne. Check us every 2nd Friday of the month for this, going to be special...

The Scene

Its slightly late at night and I'm bugging out on these Scene videos... again.

THE SCENE was Detroit's city wide ruler of dance shows from 1976-1987, broadcast regularly on WGPR Channel 62... Their dancers we're out cold, the music was always knocking, and the energy was fire...

You can find some stellar footage, music, and more photos from the show here:

The Scene later morphed into 'The New Dance Show", a show I tuned into as a WIDE eyed youth.... Whaaaaaa? I'm still waiting to see something as real as this on TV now...

Big nods to my man Josh Dunn from 100limousines.com!

HIQI delay... so here's a booby prize.

Hey y'all. My sincerest apologies, we've been steady chasing George FM for this week's show... to no avail. It was a goodie so hang tight and we'll get it up as soon as we get some love...

So in place of that here's a little boogie skank thing courtesy Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. This tune is pretty hilarious, no doubt the broze got a little overzealous on the sampler (but hey, who hasn't?!). Anybody want to gander which one they were using? I'm going to guess the Akai 612... Matthew Herbert once told me this was his favorite sampler because of the way you can freak the start/end points (pretty revolutionary for 1985...).

Off to Ponsonby Social Club with Julien Dyne, boh!
